Mad Greek Woodfire Pizzeria in Soutdbury

I had heard about The Mad Greek Pizzeria for months before ordering a slice of the pizza. It was the BEST I have eaten in a long time! Saki took over the restaurant from his Dad who now owns Annoulas Diner in Woodbury. It is obvious that Saki is passionate about his pizza. He orders the best ingredients, because "if you don't start with the best, your pizza will not taste good." He also added catering to his menu of services, having recently signed up for catering jobs in Heritage Village.

Always great love the pizza and employees! Never a messed up order ever,always on time.

Did not like the food, the pizza was burnt and tasted disgusting. The staff was not nice. Sorry to say but not returning back.

1st time at this small family run Greek pizzeria. Ordered pizza and the Avgo Lemono soup. Wood fired pizza is one of my favorites. I built my own pizza. Small is more like a medium in my opinion, so be prepared for left-overs. Not stingy with the toppings and nor was it smothered with cheese. The sauce had great tomato flavor, wasn't salty like most pizza places. Great tasting crust as well. Veggies were obviously fresh, not canned. Had more than half to take home. The soup is velvety, again not salty and had great lemon flavor. Maybe next time I'll get to try the eggplant fries which were a special today. The 2 young men were very friendly and personable. Only thing missing was Greek music and a glass of greek wine. Will be driving from Danbury to sample some of their specialties. "Nostimo"

Love the specialty pizzas. Always so good and filling. Service is wonderful and everyone is so nice.

Excellent Mediterranean salad and meatball grinder.

I went in and got a grinder but the veggies we're almost whole, not finely chopped. I didn't like that. And the meatballs werent so great either. Bread was a bit soggy as well. But it was ok just would be so quick to recommend it to others

The pizza was good and the staff was courteous, but the whole place is not clean inside. I do not recommend.

We have great pizza places in Southbury, and Mad Greek is unbelievable. Great salads, wings, pizza and staff is awesome. Saki is the nicest pizza master you will ever meet. Was in there one night and women and son come in for a slice, he just gave her a few slices. Class act.

First delivery attempt over hour and half, coldSecond attempt 2 hrs and change, kids burgers not well done, wrong dressings. Pizza isn’t tapped before it’s cooked and oven not correct temperature. Hands covered in flour from a white bottom pizza. The only thing right was the owner apologizing every other sentence. A lot can be done better and consistency is one for sure. Don’t offer services if you can’t handle them.

Pizza was hot toppings fresh great pizza if u want an amazing pie see Bruce and you will not be disappointed

Hour and a half for delivery and the food was cold and dried out horable never again the "boneless wings"were children's tenders VERY salty just horrible 😞

Was traveling West to NY and got hungry. This is one of those "google" restaurants that you can trust the recommendations!!! The food was excellent and inexpensive, the portions filling, the owners super nice. I will definitely tell my friends.

Had their bacon 🥓 wood fired pizza and it was delicious. Owner is very friendly and only uses top quality ingredients! Definitely will be returning again to explore other toppings!👏🏻

Great gyros and great pizza! My family and I were visiting the area from Anchorage, AK and looking for a Ma and Pa shop. We stumbled upon The Mad Greek Pizzeria and were super impressed.Food quality was fantastic and the staff was ultra friendly. Would love to transport this little shop back to Anchorage. I highly recommend!

Quite good for take out in Southbury. The wings are the best in town by far. Quality pizza and gyros. Can't go wrong, plus they deliver.

We had food delivered and hadn’t eaten there before. We had the best meals. My salad was so fresh and packed with delicious components (tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, peppers, dolmas, feta, etc). Definitely will be back often.

Great food, extensive menu of pizza, wings, sandwiches, grinders, among others. Service to buy takeout is slow at times, but staff are friendly.

The food is soooo good!! Best gyros in CT.. I also think their burgers are some of the best too, and the wood fire oven comes pizzas are amazing!! Order the Buffalo chicken pizza, and make sure to order the gyro "Greek Style" (its a secret add-on, not on the menu). The owner Saci is such a great guy; he's always up front making pizza - make sure to say hi and remind him that the Cowboys are trash. This is my favorite place to eat in CT: BY FAR THE BEST SELECTION AND QUALITY FOOD IN THE STATE

Chick on the green salad with roasted peppers and olives added, absolutely the best. I order it twice a week for lunch. So good.I am addicted

Waited for 2 1/2 hours tonight before the delivery kid showed up after having been told the delivery time was 1hr 15min. I had already called 3 times and on the third call, 2hrs 15min into the wait, I cancelled the order. The kid still showed up 15min later. I understand wait times are longer on Friday nights but this was absolutely ridiculous. This wasn't the first time the wait has been much longer (at least 30min longer) than they tell me but we won't waste our time with this place again. I hope you don't waste yours either.

Great chicken cutlet sandwich. Great vibe and they even served me when I walked in a few minutes early by accident.

Great pizza. Small location. Salads just ok. Wings very good. Pizza man is friendly. Staffers are a little rough, often talking to each other instead of focusing on customers. Same when you call in. Best pizza in town. Chewyand crispy crust, not cracker thin, not thick like typical local pizza. Signage and store front a little hard to notice. They share a building with the Main St Convenience Store.

Food is very good but not worth waiting 2 and a half hours for. I was very disappointed with my experience, when my food arrived it was cold. If your going to get food from here eat at the restaurant

We came to this restaurant for a meeting. my friend recommended this spot. Well, it was very nice. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we felt very good. The meal was great. We enjoyed every moment and we will visit this place again. Warmly recommended.

Running a business is difficult, I have one...BUT these guys work hard, they are always nice to me....The TUNA MELT is Great...and Chicken Parm..also..portions are very good.......Meatballs/Sauce just like homemade from Grandma's...yummyI Order from them as often as I can......

My daughters love the wings! Maybe they are double dipped? My mom loves the senior slice of pizza with pepperoni & bacon, they pop in for her on the run! They even let me pay for a dating couples meal while they were eating via phone, fun night! Great customer service 👍
